Erin J. Martens, MD

Dr. Martens is fellowship-trained in hand and upper extremity surgery with extensive training in the treatment of traumatic injuries to the hand and upper extremity.

Dr. Martens was born and raised in Wisconsin, completing her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering in Northwestern University before moving to St. Louis to attend medical school at Washington University School of Medicine.

She went on to complete a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University, followed by a fellowship in Hand Surgery at the University of Utah.

Dr. Martens cares for patients of all ages and has a special interest in pediatric hand injuries and congenital hand deformities. She has extensive training in the treatment of traumatic injuries to the hand and upper extremity and completed additional training in microsurgery at Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore, India.

She also treats a wide variety of hand and elbow problems, including carpal tunnel syndrome, hand and wrist fractures, arthritis, trigger finger, tendon and nerve injuries, and Dupuytren’s contracture. She likes to work together with her patients to determine the best treatment plan for each individual.

She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and The American Society of Surgery of the Hand. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and spending time with her fiance’ and their pets.
